Yiannis Roussakis is Assistant Professor of Pedagogy, Educational Planning and Pedagogical Practices in the Faculty of Special Education at the University of Thessaly. He has a PhD in Comparative Education and Education Policy. He has worked at the Institute of Educational Policy of the Greek Ministry of National Education, as scientific coordinator of the Major In-Service Training Program for Greek Educators. He has lectured (a) undergraduate courses in Comparative Education, Education Policy and Entrepreneurship Education and (b) post-graduate courses in Education and European Integration and in Research Management at the Universities of Thessaly and Athens and at the European University Cyprus. He has also taught numerous training seminars and programs for primary and secondary school teachers, mainly subjects relevant to the European Union and education. He is the author of one book (“European Union: Policies for Education”, Greek Pedagogical Institute, 2008) and also author of many collective chapters and scientific journal papers written in Greek and in English. Professor Roussakis will be the instructor of the third theme of each workshop-Incorporating innovative EU learning techniques to curriculum courses in order to facilitate refugees’ EU integration into the Greek educational system.
