Free European Training Program of the University of Athens for the Secondary Education Teachers teaching in secondary schools specified for refugee education
On Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 9:00 in the Lecture Hall of the European Public Law Agency in Plaka, begins the European Training Program of the Research Center for Economic Policy, Governance and Development of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration “Promoting effective EU integration of refugees in secondary schools specified for refugee education”. The Scientific Responsible of the Program is Professor and Director of the Center Mr. Napoleon Maravagias.
The program aims at secondary education teachers who teach in schools with structures for refugee children and has as an objective to provide participants with high-quality training in modern educational techniques, innovative teaching methods and information on issues related to the effective integration of refugee children into Europe.
It is noted that the program is free of charge and that all participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens as well as special educational material. The lectures will be made by University Professors and Researchers with proven field experience.
In the first seminar will participate more than 50 secondary education teachers from Attica. The seminar will be repeated in Athens in order to cover the great interest expressed by the teachers, while next year seminars are planned in Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Samos, and Lesvos. More information about the program is available on the relevant website at www.interef.gr. In addition to the useful information on how to integrate refugee children into the European reality, teachers have the opportunity to exchange views and best practices through a dedicated Forum.
It is noted that all seminars will be streamed live through the platform of the University of Athens and that teachers will have the opportunity to submit online written questions to the lecturers at the time of the seminar (instructions are available at www.interef.gr). This will enable teachers from all over the country, not only to follow the seminars but also to participate actively to them. The broadcast of the 1st Seminar will begin on Saturday, December 7 at 9:30.
